Nice Agency and IBM worked together to enable Jaguar Land Rover to offer a virtual "hands-on" access to its model ranges for customers. Harnessing advanced digital technology, the experience breaks free from the limitations that dictate what can be displayed in a conventional showroom.
The system, the most sophisticated produced for the motor industry, was launched at the Paris Motor Show and enables interaction with a life size representation of any Jaguar or Land Rover model, enabling users to trigger functions simply by pointing. Using a touchpad screen, the customer makes natural and intuitive movements or gestures to explore all aspects of the vehicle, selecting the model, equipment grade and feature preferences, which Virtual Experience renders as an ultra-high resolution, real time 3D image. The system was designed to be highly portable for use in showrooms or public spaces, including places where actual vehicles cannot be displayed.
The introduction of Virtual Experience is a key element in Jaguar Land Rover’s wider digital strategy for its business through making innovative use of mobile and online applications and tools.
